Abstract Preview
This part is intended to simplify drawing indications and specifies general tolerances in four tolerance classes. It applies to the dimensions of workpieces that are produced by metal removal or are formed from sheet metal. It contains three tables and an informative annex with regard to concepts behind general tolerancing of dimensions.
Variations on dimensions without tolerance values are according to ' ISO 2768'. All tolerance limits are given in mm. ISO 2768 and derivative geometrical tolerance standards are intened to simplify drawing specifications for mechanical tolerances. ISO 2768 is mainly for parts that are manufactured by way of machniing or removeal of materials. ISO 2768-2:1989 General tolerances — Part 2: Geometrical tolerances for features without individual tolerance indications. This standard has been revised by ISO. This part is intended to simplify drawing indications and specifies general tolerances in three tolerance classes. It mainly applies to features which are. If general tolerances according to ISO 2768-1 are valid, the following has to be inserted in the title box, i.e. For tolerance class medium. ISO 2768 – m or general tolerance ISO 2768 – m. For new designs only the general tolerance according to DIN ISO 2768-1 should be valid.
An ISO 2768-mK mark means the dimension information for which the tolerances are not specified will be followed according to the m and K class. M class is specified in ISO 2768-1 and K class is specified in ISO 2768-2, which including H, K, and L tolerance levels. General Tolerances ISO 2768-1 ISO 2768-1 is intended to simplify drawing indications and specifies general tolerances in 4 tolerance classes (f – fine, m – medium, c – coarse, v – very coarse). It applies for the linear dimensions and angular dimensions such as external sizes, internal sizes, step sizes.
